
Born Ferndale, Rhondda Valleys, South Wales, Vince studied at Cardiff, Newport and Leeds Colleges of Art as well as the Academia di belle Arti, Florence and Leeds University. In 1983 Vince and his family moved to Cornwall, settling in the Poltesco Valley on the Lizard Peninsula where he has lived and worked ever since.
His artistic involvements include two Welsh Arts painting awards and commissions by the Leeds Education department to paint two large murals. He has also been awarded Italian Government Scholarships on three occasions to study and paint in Italy, two residencies at the Fundacion Valparaiso, Spain and was a Fulbright Scholar as part of the UK/USA Exchange programme in Miami, Florida.
He has exhibited his work widely with numerous exhibitions across the UK and abroad, including one man shows in Miami U.S.A., the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, Falmouth Art Gallery and at the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Spina,Pisa Italy. Vince’s teaching experiences are just as extensive and cover all age groups and levels of ability including Art Therapy, Community Arts, Art College, Adult and Community Education.
More recently his enjoyment of teaching has been fulfilled by running art courses/workshops in Italy, Spain, France, Greece and the U.K. He is also a tutor for the Open College of the Arts.
